The Alvan Blanch Supervac 210 series hammermills are designed for the milling of grain into flour or to act as part of a feed preparation system. They may also be used for the grinding of non-granular materials such as cassava chips, maize cobs, straw etc (when the optional chute is used).


Supervac mills differ from most of their competitors in that they are of exceptionally robust construction. The main body is of 3mm plate. The cyclone is of 1.6mm thick steel. A wearing plate is bolted into the lower section of the mill body. The mill rotor, which consists of four-way reversible hinged hammers of tempered steel, is built of 6mm and 10mm plate and mounted on a 45mm diameter shaft. A powerful fan rotor is fitted to the same shaft. The full circle screens are available in a wide range of perforations and are easy to change. The suction feed hopper is positioned at ground level - for ease of sack tipping. It incorporates a stone trap as well as a magnet.

The new high efficiency cyclone reduces dust at discharge point to a minimum and is equipped with a two-way bagging device with quick release sack clamps as standard.

The optional direct feed chute for non-granular materials


Grain is tipped into the low level suction feed hopper, from where it is drawn by the powerful effect of the fan. The optimum feed rate for the material in question is set by means of the air control slide which, as it is opened, bleeds in air and thus reduces the volume of grain sucked from the feed hopper. An ammeter is provided with electric versions so that peak loadings can be achieved.

In the milling chamber the hammers, rotating at high speed, pulverise the material into particles small enough to be drawn through the screen by the fan rotor. The milled material is conveyed pneumatically into the collection cyclone from where it is discharged into the two way bagging device that greatly improves productivity and ease of operation as it enables one bag to be filled whilst the other is being removed. The operator also benefits further because exposure to dust is reduced as the feed is already diverted to the other side when each bag is removed.

Optional Equipment

Remote Feed: Due to the powerful suction effect of the fans, the feed hopper can be positioned away from the mill (via extra pipework).

Direct Feed: For non-granular materials (straw etc) a special direct feed chute is fitted – this incorporates a control slide for flow control when used on grain.

Dust Collection: Filter stocking arrangement can be coupled to the cyclone outlet to collect fine dust.

Mill Mix Combination: The cyclone can be mounted on an Alvan Blanch meal mixer for animal feed milling.
